July at KIBS - A Summer of Memories

Adventures Beyond the Classroom

A Night at KIBS

For one night, school felt completely different. Our KIBS Sleepover brought children together for an evening of fun, laughter and shared experiences — including the excitement of spending the night at school.

Away from the usual daily routine, moments like these give children opportunities to become more independent, strengthen friendships and experience their school community in a whole new way.

For our students in Grades 2–5, the end of the year also brought overnight trips and new adventures away from school.

Travelling and staying together offers a different kind of learning. Children navigate new situations, take responsibility for themselves and their belongings, support one another and experience what it means to be part of a group.

And, perhaps most importantly, they create memories together that often stay with them long after the school year has ended.

Taking the Stage

Towards the end of the school year, the stage came alive at KIBS. Our Kindergarten children prepared their own theatre performance, while Lower and Upper Primary worked towards their own musicals.

In Primary, the performances also reflected our bilingual environment in a very natural way: the children performed their roles in English and sang the songs in German. Upper Primary, for example, brought Annie to the stage.

After weeks of preparation and rehearsals, it was finally time to perform and share what they had worked towards together.

Theatre and musical productions bring together so much more than learning lines and songs. They encourage creativity, expression and confidence, while asking children to listen to one another, work together and play their own part in bringing a story to life.

From our youngest performers in Kindergarten to our Upper Primary students, each production had its own character — and gave the children the wonderful experience of creating something together and finally sharing it with an audience.

Celebrating a Milestone

July also marked an important milestone for two of our year groups as we celebrated the graduation of our Kindergarten and Grade 6 students.

For our Kindergarten children, graduation marked the end of one chapter and the exciting beginning of another as they prepared to move into Primary.

For our Grade 6 students, it was a particularly meaningful moment as they reached the end of their journey at KIBS and prepared for the next chapter ahead.

Graduation gives us a chance to pause, look back at how much the children have grown and celebrate everything they have achieved — while looking forward to all that is still to come.

And Just Like That, Another School Year Came to an End

A school year is made up of countless small moments — learning something new, overcoming a challenge, finding a friend, trying again, laughing together and gradually becoming a little more independent.

July gave us the opportunity to celebrate many of these moments before saying goodbye for the summer.

We are proud of how much our children have grown and grateful to all our families and staff who were part of another year at KIBS.

And then, for a little while, the classrooms became quiet.
