Primary
Grades 1-6 • Ages 6-12 Years
We are a cantonally accredited school, following the Lehrplan 21 Zurich curriculum, enriched with elements of the IB framework and our own bilingual-focused program, providing children with a rich and well-rounded learning experience.
Voices Of Our Students
In this short video testimonial, our students share their experiences at KIBS. They reflect on their personal growth, the quality of lessons, the support from our teaching staff, and the positive impact their time at our school has had on them.
A Personalised Learning Experience

Small Classes, Individual Focus
Small class sizes allow our teachers to focus on each child’s individual needs and tailor lessons to their level of learning.

Exploring Through Themed Units
Through themed units, children are encouraged to question, explore, and connect with the world around them. Our cross-curricular approach links subjects together, providing meaningful, real-life learning experiences.

Inspiring Lifelong Learning
At KIBS, we aim to create a learning environment that inspires curiosity, excitement, and a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

Truly Bilingual
Education
Our curriculum is taught 50% in English and 50% in German, ensuring a balanced and immersive bilingual learning experience for every child.

Supporting Every Learner
Our teachers use differentiated instruction and a range of teaching strategies to meet each child where they are—supporting pupils who need guidance while extending and challenging those ready to go further.
Homework Support

To support busy, working parents, we offer supervised homework sessions for our primary students. During this time, teachers and teaching assistants are available to guide and assist children with their tasks, while still encouraging independence, organisation, and responsibility for their own work.
Gymnasium Preparation
During the final years of Primary School, we offer optional Gymnasium preparation classes. These sessions introduce pupils to the format of the national exam and guide them in developing the skills and strategies they will need to succeed. Combined with independent study and home revision, this targeted support prepares pupils not only for the exam itself but also for the academic challenges and expectations of life at Gymnasium.

Extra-Curricular Clubs

We offer extra-curricular clubs for Primary pupils during their after-lunch break. Children can choose from a variety of clubs each semester, such as table tennis, choir, drama, Italian, and guitar, among others. Clubs may vary each term, giving students the opportunity to explore new interests and develop their skills in a fun, supportive environment.
Project Weeks
Learning Through Themed Activities

KIBS has an extended school calendar to support both families and learning. To give parents the flexibility to plan vacations without disrupting their child’s education, we offer 7 Project Weeks that coincide with the Canton Zürich school holidays. During these weeks, the school remains open, but children take part in themed, hands-on activities instead of their regular timetable, making learning fun, engaging, and memorable.
