Our Educational Approach

Child-Centered Learning
KIBS is proud to offer families in the Zürich area both an international and national education that places the child at the centre of learning. Our pupils engage in meaningful, hands-on experiences that challenge them, spark curiosity, and promote academic excellence.
A Tailored, Bilingual Curriculum
To meet the needs of our diverse learners, KIBS has developed its own tailored curriculum, combining key skills and objectives from international programmes with the learning goals of Canton Zürich. This unique blend allows us to provide a rich, balanced, and future-focused education.
Cross-Curricular, Connected Learning
Our curriculum is delivered through a cross-curricular approach, helping children make connections between subjects and build a meaningful foundation for deeper learning.
Growing Independence and Critical Thinking
Throughout their school journey, pupils are encouraged to think critically, solve problems independently, and take increasing responsibility for themselves and their learning.
What does "bilingual" mean?
Being bilingual means using two languages with fluency. At KIBS, this is reflected in our 50/50 approach: half of the instructional time is in English, and half in German.
Why early bilingualism matters
Learning two languages from a young age strengthens the brain and makes it work more efficiently.

Bilingualism for Every Learner
Recent studies even suggest that bilingualism can enhance certain executive function skills in children with ASD, highlighting its benefits for diverse learners.
The Science Behind Bilingualism
Research shows that bilingual children develop stronger connections between different brain regions. The earlier a second language is learned, the more efficiently the brain is organised—supporting memory, problem-solving, and overall cognitive performance.
