Who attends KIBS?

A.

Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds. We have families from over 28 nationalities including Swiss, British, American, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Romanian.

How can we apply?

To apply, you can complete the application form located in the contact section on our website or reach out to our admissions team for further instructions.

Q.

Is there a deadline for the applications?

A.

No, students are accepted throughout the year if a space is available in the group. To start at the beginning of a new academic year, we suggest the application be completed by end of February to avoid disappointment.

Q.

Is my child required to take an entrance exam when entering primary?

A.

KIBS does not require students to take an exam. We believe it is important to meet your child and get to know he/she. Your child may be invited for a trial day to see how he/she interact within the group.

Q.

Should my child be fluent in English and German to attend KIBS?

A.

When entering KIBS from Kindergarten and above the students should have at least some knowledge of either German or English language. When entering in primary, students must have near native proficiency in one of the instructional languages.

Q.

Which other languages are offered in KIBS?

A.

French is taught as part of the Curriculum from Grade 4-6. French and Spanish are available in after lunch clubs at no extra charge.

Where do the teachers come from?

A.

Our dedicated teaching staff are mainly from the UK, Ireland, USA, Germany and Switzerland.

Q.

What are the school opening hours?

A.

KIBS is open Monday to Friday 7.30 – 18.30, closing for only 5 weeks of vacation through the year. There are seven additional ‘Project Weeks’ during which time families are able to take holiday if required. Teaching hours are from 9.00 – 16.10, and students are required to be in school by 8.50 for registration.

How can I travel to KIBS?

A.

KIBS conveniently located near to Zürich transport links. The public bus 768 conveniently stops in front of the school campus in Seebach. We also offer a school shuttle bus at an additional cost for Seebach, Oerlikon, Glattpark areas. (Other locations may be available on request)

Is there a school uniform at school?

A.

KIBS has no school uniform. However, students are requested to dress appropriately at school.

What are the tuition fees?

Is there an additional cost for child care before and after lessons?

A.

No. Childcare, after lunch clubs, homework support and project weeks are all included in the monthly tariff.

Q.

Which meals are included in the monthly tariff?

A.

Kindergarten - with the exception of the afternoon snack, all meals are included for Little Einsteins, Stars and Bees children. Primary -  the children are offered breakfast and morning snack. Lunch is available at an extra charge of CHF 10.- / day.

Is the school lunch arranged by a catering company?

A.

No, our own school chefs create fresh, healthy meals on site every day. Using fresh, produce the menu is comprised of dishes from all over the world.

Where will I find a school calendar?

A.

School calendars with key dates and up-and-coming events, as well as KIBS Handbook can be found in the Parent’s Portal.

Q.

Where can my child go after graduating from KIBS?

A.

Your child can attend any national or international secondary school worldwide. Most of our students aim for the Swiss Gymnasium, and KIBS offers a dedicated preparation program for the gymnasium test at no additional charge.
